Meagan Marie (born June 13, 1985) is an American author, model entrepreneur, spokesperson, and cosplayer based out of Redwood City, California.
Personal Life
As a child she always dreamed of being Lara Croft, the beloved character from the popular Tomb Raider video game franchise. When asked who her role models were as a young girl, Meagan stated in a 2016 interview with Prima Games,[14]
"Lara Croft and Wonder Woman were, and continue to be, my role-models.
I looked up to them as leaders in the entertainment I so eagerly consumed, especially in a time when women were under-represented.
I plastered photos of them all over my walls growing up, rather than cutouts from pop magazines and celebrity culture."
Meagan married her longterm boyfriend of over eight years, Bastian.
The two wed in January of 2018 in a very private fashion.
On an Instagram post in January of 2018 she stated that the couple are planning a more formal gathering in early 2020 and that 'I’ll admit, it’s been kinda fun to be secretly married for a year.
Education
Meagan entered college in 2004, attending the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities College of Design and studying journalism, mass communication, and graphic design.

Girls Entertainment Network
Her first step in the pop culture industry began with her time at Girls Entertainment Network.
From January 2006 to January 2009 Meagan had worked as an Editor and Event Coordinator.
Game Informer
After graduating from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Meagan began working for Game Informer magazine in March of 2008. While employed for the video game publication she was an Associate Editor and had written a variety of articles. Meagan worked for the company until April of 2011, totaling 3 years and 2 months at Game Informer.
Riot Games
She had a brief stint at Riot Games, where she worked as the EU Community Programs Specialist, where she promoted and developed programs to build the League of Legends community in Europe. This presented Meagan with opportunities to work both domestically and internationally. She worked at Riot Games for 6 months, from April to September of 2014.
Crystal Dynamics
In 2011 Meagan began working for Crystal Dynamics, an American video game developer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her title was the Senior Community and Social Media Manager. She had a variety of duties for community growth for the company, running multiple advertising strategies and promotions on various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Google. She also made appearances at trade shows and conventions to promote Tomb Raider.

The Causeplay Shop
In 2014 Meagan started The Causeplay Shop, a philanthropic organization for cosplayers, photographers and other artists to contribute through online auctions to raise money for various charities including The Nepal Youth Foundation, The American Red Cross, Humane Society of America, and many more. The organization has raised over $10,000.
Cosplay
Meagan is very well known for her cosplaying of popular comic book and video game characters.
She has portrayed Lara Croft, Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Black Canary, Mad Moxxi, and many many more. On an Instagram story she uploaded her career in pictures starting from her very first attempts at a Lara Croft costume in 1999. Since then she has won many awards and received many recognitions.
