Marie Mortera is a journalist who currently works for KSNV News 3 as a news anchor. She has more than 15 years of experience in journalism and she’s dedicated to revealing stories that may not always make the headlines but deserved the spotlight. She graduated from San Francisco State University.
Education
She graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts in 2003. She studied and received training in the various forms of broadcast and electronics arts.
Career
Marie Mortera got her debut on-air reporting at ABS-CBN, San Francisco Bay Area immediately after her bachelor’s degree. She served as a reporter at the station for eight months and within this short period, she was able to cover an aging airport employee whose fingerprint faded over time and was left wondering if he could still keep his job.
Marie Mortera moved to Yuma, Arizona in December 2003 to work as an anchor at KYMA where her team coverage of a military jet crashed won an Edward R. Murrow Award. While at KYMA she was opportune to follow a team of doctors across border to outfit Mexican residents with hearing aids. After spending 1 year and 10 months at KYMA, she joined KVBC-TV as an anchor in September 2005. While at KVBC-TV, she anchored the weekend morning show newscasts as well as reporting during the week.
Personal Life
Marie Mortera, in her free time, can be seen at a yoga studio with his family and their two pulps. She is a member of La Vegas FBI Citizens Academy and also an Emcee for Sunrise Children’s Foundation. She is also a Yoga and Indoor cycling instructor.
