The Single Woman and Success
Mandy started the blog The Single Woman in 2010 after ending an abusive relationship and feeling creatively unchallenged at her employer at the time. She made a New Year's resolution to step out of her comfort zone and write about her experiences in an original, inspirational, and humorous manner. The underlying theme at the foundation of her blog is to empower women and to make them realize that they do not have to settle. [1] She started to gain a massive following and was discovered by Harper Collins. In 2013, she struck a book deal with the publisher and wrote The Single Woman: Life, Love, And A Dash of Sash, which has received over 700 five-star reviews on Amazon.
Mandy has authored several best-selling books including I've Never Been to Vegas, but My Luggage Has: Mishaps and Miracles on the Road to Happily Ever After (2014), Beautiful Uncertainty (2016), and the handbook The Single Woman’s Sassy Survival Guide: Letting Go and Moving On. In March of 2016, she left Harper Collins and is in the process of writing her 4th book with the Hatchet Book Group. She lists some of her influences being Erma Bombeck, Elizabeth Gilbert, Oprah Winfrey, Joyce Meyer, and Carrie Bradshaw (if she was a real person). Although Bombeck mostly documents life as a housewife, Mandy draws inspiration from her writing tone and style. In the past, Mandy has with brands such as Bumble to help expand their reach on her media platform.
