machineheart (Band)
Synth pop band Machineheart was formed in 2014 by a group of friends from Tacoma, Washington, and a singer/model from Los Angeles, California.
Guitarists Carman Kubanda and Trevor Kelly, friends from high school, brought onboard Harrison Allen (drums) and Jake Randle (bass) to form an emo band "He Is We". When Rachel Taylor, the original vocalist, left the group, singer Stevie Scott filled in and eventually became the new vocalist. Originally they performed under the name "New Bloom", but eventually adopted the name, "machineheart".
machineheart produced popular covers of Katy Perry and The 1975 which helped them gain blog exposure, as well as a contribution to MTV's Scream television series, but it was not until their single "Circles" was released that the band got more serious buzz.
"Circles", featuring Vancouver electronic artist Vanic, has broken Spotify's Viral 50.
