Lynette Nusbacher (born Aryeh Judah Schoen Nusbacher on December 17, 1966) is a Military Historian and Strategist lives in London. She is the founder of Lynette Nusbacher Associates and is also a member of Surrey Police Independent Advisory Group.
Education
Lynette Nusbacher was born Aryeh Judah Schoen Nusbacher on December 17,1966 at New York City. Nusbacher received honors from the University of Toronto, graduating with a degree in History and Economics. She went on to complete her Master's in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada and earn a Doctor of Philosophy. in History from Oxford University. In 2009 she attended the National School of Government in Pretoria and studied Organizational Leadership. A year later she participated in a Strategic Leadership Programme at Cranfield School of Management.
Career
Lynette lecturing
Nusbacher worked as an administrator at the University of Toronto for over six years. In 1992 Lynette served as a logistics officer and division staff officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, leading financial planning and audits for an infantry battalion. Between 2006 and 2007, Nusbacher specialized in operational research as a principal and senior consultant in war studies at LMC Consultants.
Nusbacher worked for the Cabinet Office in the United Kingdom as a senior intelligence advisor before being promoted to the head of the strategic horizons unit, a role that the Prime minister described as being responsible for: "Co-ordinat(ing) the security-related horizon scanning currently undertaken in a number of Government Departments, with the intention of giving it an overarching framework and a more coherent output."
Nusbacher served as a Reserved Officer in the British Army from 2000 to 2014 in multiple countries, including the UK, Germany, Oman, and Kosovo. She has also been a senior lecturer in war studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst since 1999 and has lectured at University of Reading for over 6 years, even teaching a postgraduate seminar in strategy. Nusbacher delivered the 2006 Cecil and Irene Roth Memorial Lecture at the London Jewish Museum.
Since 2011 Nusbacher has been the owner, coach and devil's advocate at Nusbacher Associates, Strategy and Devil's Advocacy.
She writes for the Times of Israel and The Huffington Post, and has a Nusbacher Associates blog about strategy and foreign policy. She has written two books titled "1314: Bannockburn, The Battle of Bannockburn" and "War and Conflict."
