Leigh-Kathryn Bonner is an American entrepreneur and environmentalist whose passion is to help save the dwindling Bee population around the world through initiatives and partnerships using sustainable systems. [1] She is the Founder CEO of Bee Downtown, an organization she created to rebuild the Bee population.
Biography
Leigh-Kathryn Bonner is a native of North Carolina, a place where she has lived for most of her life. She is a fourth-generation bee keeper. She is an alum at Millbrook High School. [6][5]
Education
She attended North Carolina State University where she received her B.A. degree in International/Global Studies. She also received her Nonprofit management certification from Duke University. [1]
She also attended Pompeu Fabra University. [1]
Career
During her time in college she interned for a series of organizations related to the environment and social work.
She was involved with Be Active North Carolina, Stop Hunger Now, and the North Carolina Bee Keepers Association.
Bee Downtown
In early 2014, she started Bee Downtown, a company/startup that she would expand for years to come.
She started the company with the idea to find lucrative ways in regenerating the number of Bees back into cities around the world by establishing partnerships with corporate campuses.
