Laura Abarca-Nogueda was the mother of Sophia Gonzales, a newborn baby that was kidnapped by Yesenia Sesmas in Wichita, Kansas.

On Thursday, November 17th, 2016, after a disagreement between Laura and Sesmas about the future of Sophia, Sesmas fired her gun and ended the life of Laura.

She took Sophia with her and headed down to Dallas, Texas.

Sesmas claims that Laura had agreed to give up her new-born baby, but once Sesmas arrived in Wichita, she changed her mind.

Sesmas claims that she only meant to intimidate Laura, but her gun went off by accident.

Special Agents and the FBI gathered at the scene and began they're investigation.

With the collaboration of other agencies, they were able to locate the whereabouts of Sesmas in a home in Dallas, Texas.

On Saturday, the 19th, SWAT was called up and were able to successfully attain Sophia safe and sound.

She was safely flown back to her family in Wichita thereafter.
