Kym Douglas (née Bankier) is a regular beauty expert on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Doctor’s and a guest host on the #1 rated Good Day LA morning show (Fox). She is also a regular correspondent and a familiar face The View and The TV Guide Channel. Kym has been called “The MacGyver of Beauty,” “The Hollywood Beauty Go-to-Girl” and “The Los Angeles Beauty Guru.” She is also co-author with Cindy Pearlman of three best-sellers: The Black Book of Hollywood Beauty Secrets, The Black Book of Hollywood Diet Secrets and The Black Book of Hollywood Pregnancy Secrets and her newest release The Beauty Cookbook!

Douglas was raised in Southfield, Michigan and began her career at the age of 16 working as an intern at a local station WJBK in Southfield. She later moved on to WLUC in Marquette, Michigan to anchor the evening news. Kym met her future husband Jerry Douglas (John Abbott, ‘The Young and the Restless’) when she was chosen to host the ‘Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon’ in Las Vegas in 1983. Jerry was the telethon’s ‘celebrity host from LA.’ Kym made a bold move and asked Jerry if he would let her interview him so that she could take the story back to her small town news station in Michigan. Jerry agreed if she would go out to dinner with him and their instant love story began.

Kym Douglas is a devoted wife and proud mother to her 16 year old son Hunter Douglas, 2 step children and 2 dogs (Tom) Brady and Bella Bliss.

Douglas can often be found using her kitchen as a “beauty lab” where you will find her whipping up a face mask or lotion from things she finds in her cabinets.

Her son and the rest of his football team are often her (victims) subjects.

It is not unfamiliar to find five or six of them lined up on her kitchen stools as she tests her recipes on them before sharing them with the rest of the world.

Her house is always full and her laundry basket overflowing.

Her white sofa is often occupied by a team of sports fanatics, who shout loudly at her television set.

She in contrast, loves pretty party dresses, a nice handbag, pink lipstick, and like most women, she can never have too many shoes!

She has been labeled a cross between Goldie Hawn & Lucille Ball. Her home is her haven and she is better at cooking up beauty secrets than an apple pie. She loves her mom and dad with all her heart and E.E. Cummings is one of her favorite poets. Kym is most passionate about people, her faith, her family and her work!
