She was a 7th grader at Central Junior High School in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district.
Disappearance
Cargill was last seen at about 6:20 p.m. on June 19, 2017, near her family’s apartment in the 1700 block of Oak Creek Lane, near Pennington Field in Bedford, Texas.
Kaytlynn had gone on a walk with her dog, when she did not return from the walk after about 30 minutes, her parents began looking for her.
At about 8:00 p.m., her parents reported her as a missing person to Bedford police.
Death
On June 21, 2017, her body was found at the Arlington landfill at about 2 p.m. by an employee.
Investigation
Kaytlynn’s dog was found tied up at the dog park near her home.
On September 1, 2017, a 16-year-old acquaintance of Cargill, identified as Jordin Roache, was taken into custody. [1]
She had been murdered by a hammer after she was involved in a drug deal.
