Karli Barnett

Karli Barnett is an American Emmy Award winning Journalist. She is currently the Weekend Morning Anchor and Weekday Morning Reporter on WFOR CBS4 Miami. The high school class Valedictorian has covered over 25 Georgian cities. She currently resides in Miami, South Florida.^[1]

Background

Karli Barnett was introduced to theater classes by her parents after they realized that she was passionate about acting. Acting was a way to develop herself, which has greatly helped in her presentation skills and overcome a bit of my childhood shyness.

In high school she went on trips to Costa Rica. While she was there, She realized that people are both diverse and unique, with everyone having a story to tell. She spent a summer in Madrid, Spain, living with a family and taking classes, which exposed her to a different culture.

Everyone has a story, and even though it took my experiences in other countries to fully appreciate this, I found that these stories can be found right here in our own communities

Karli Barnett bagged her bachelors degree with a major in Digital Broadcast Journalism and minors in Spanish and Communication Studies from the University of Georgia. She graduated summa cum laude and as a presidential scholar.

Career

Karli Barnett began her career in Journalism in the year 2014, June to be precise, as a Multimedia Journalist at the 13 WMAZ TV.^[5]

Whether I am out on the scene or in the studio, I hope to present news in an informative, entertaining and enlightening way.

She also worked at WMAZ-TV News, the CBS affiliate in Central Georgia, as the Weekday Morning and Midday News anchor. On October 2018, she joined the WFOR-TV CBS4 team in Miami, South Florida. She currently anchors the Weekend Morning broadcasts and reports Weekday Mornings.

I was honored to be recognized as one of sixteen Outstanding Senior Leaders.
