Karen Cheng is an Engineer, Designer, Videographer, Entrepreneur, Marketer, and so on, who runs Karen X, a creative agency that makes highly shareable commercials and viral videos for brands and startups. The total views of all the videos she has produced has garnered more than 75 million views on the internet.
She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received her BBA in Management information system, and was also a part of the Business honors program. She ranked 1st out of 745 in her class with a 4.0 and having the highest honors. [17]
She went to work on her own project called 520 or 90 for a disruptive traffic app on iOS and Android. The product was featured on the Huffington Post and Techflash startup. [17]
She was the lead designer for the company, Exec, Inc. And, later on, Give it 100, where she helped people complete their 100 day project of perseverance and share it with the world.
She works with a group of collaborators who produce the videos intended for a massive audience and designed for people to share.
She began the donut selfie technique of taking selfies.
It became such a craze that Beats by Dre hired her as part of the inspiration for one of the biggest campaign they've ever done by promoting the headphones along with the newly released iPhone 6. The video was released during a Thanksgiving Day football game which featured Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Serena Williams, and Nicki Minaj.
When she's not making videos clients, she makes them for fun.
