Jon Girodes is an American Politician who is running as the Republican candidate for the New York State Senate. He is running for the 30th district which is located in Harlem. He previously ran for Senate in 2014 to 2010. [1]
Kool-Aid Rally Scandal
Girodes sent an email to WNBC that he planned to hand out “Kool-Aid, KFC and watermelons” to people who attended a Harlem campaign rally in the coming weeks. The racial undertones of the event was sharply criticized by the media and community alike. Girodes was previously being inquired by the news station about reports that he owed a woman $7,750 in an apartment rental dispute. [undefined]
Girodes deleted his campaign website and his campaign presence on social media.
The GOP does not support him and stated that he is not a real candidate.
