Personal Life
Joe Machi wad born and raised in State College, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Frank Machi, a retired store manager and Catherine Machi, a retired Catholic school Teacher. In 1997, Machi graduated from State College Area High School. He later graduated from Penn State University in 2002. Before becoming a comedian, he worked as a customer service Manager for a supermarket and a human resources Assistant for a Media company. [1] [6] [5] [11]
Career
Joe was interested in Comedy at a young age. Machi decided to try stand-up and moved to New York City in 2006. He quickly passed or became part of the roster for late night at New York's Comic Strip Live. He subsequently passed at four other NYC Comedy Clubs including Stand Up New York and Caroline's on Broadway. In 2010, Machi won the New York Underground Comedy Festival 's Emerging Comic's Contest in 2010. Joe also won the 2013 NY Comedy Festival’s Funniest Comedian Competition. [10]
After taking 4th place on Last Comic Standing ’s 8th season in 2014, Joe Machi started touring the United States as a headlining stand-up Comedian. He has also featured on The Greg Gutfeld Show and Red Eye on Fox News.
He started his own Comedy Central "Half Hour" special in September 2016. In December 2018, Machi performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. [9]
Machi was a guest on "The Greg Gutfeld Show," which airs every Saturday night on the Fox News Channel. He said:
"It has been great for my career.
A lot of comics neglect or turn off a large portion of the population because they put preaching politics ahead of punch lines.
I want to make a broad range of people laugh so the joke comes first.
I don't care that some people hear Fox News and automatically don't like it even though they've never watched the show.
It would be silly to care what someone who hasn't drank milk thinks of milk."[37]
Comedic Style
Machi is known for his high-pitched voice, which he makes fun of himself.
Machi says that he and Mike Tyson are both men cursed with high-pitched voices.
"It's just how I am," he said.
"I really didn't plan it.
I think you can teach people some techniques to be funny but if they aren't funny in real life it's a tall mountain to climb."[37]
He is audience favorite and has a massive followers.
