She had a five-year-old son, Joshua Snipes, and was the partner of Matt Snipes.

On July 17, 2017, Nevin's deceased body was discovered midday by a worker checking a gas well off of Watermelon Road and Phelps Road. The discovery was made about 25 yards down a dirt road. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

On July 18, 2017, authorities announced murder charges against Rashad Lewis, 23, Kendrick Ky'Andre Marshall, 16, and Vida Milagros Confetti. ^{[undefined] [undefined] [undefined]}
