James Lavin and Owen Higgins
James Lavin was a senior student and athlete at Falmouth High School. He is originally from Falmouth, Massachusetts. James drive and determination served as an example for his fellow teammates. [2]
Athletic Career
Lavin was played on both his high school's football and hockey team.
As Falmouth's starting defensive end and offensive guard, Lavin had a number of pancakes on the offensive side of the ball and several sacks on defense.
He also did an excellent job of keeping contain as a defensive end by preventing the ball carrier from running outside of him.
[0]IHis efforts helped lead the Clippers to an undefeated season and state championship.
[3]In the weight room, Lavin maxed out at a 275 lbs bench and 425 lbs squat.
[0]Furthermore, Lavin played on defense on his school's hockey team.
Death
On the evening of December 22nd, Lavin and his friend Owen Higgins were driving home from hockey practice. At around 6:42 pm, their vehicle crashed into a tree on Thomas Landers Road. Lavin was pronounced dead at the scene. Owen was transported to a Rhode Island hospital and died the next day. Police are investigating the incident. [3]
