Donald Trump Star Incident
Lambert sledgehammered Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star in the predawn (5:30 a.m.) hours of October 26, 2016. He dressed up as a construction worker, set up portable construction site barriers, and used a pick pick axe and sledgehammer to tear into the star, defacing it and removing the bronze lettering and emblem. He said he was unable to tear out the entire star itself. The act was captured on video.
Otis said he is auctioning off pieces of the star, the lettering and emblem for victims of sexual assault. The value of the damage is estimated at $30,000, making the act of destruction a felony.
Otis says he is a violent and DNC paid activist who has been arrested 24 or 25 times.
He said he is not afraid of Donald Trump, and hopes to face him in court (he said it would be an honor), and described Donald Trump as a bully. [1]
Jamie Otis is a Los Angeles resident.
In October 2016, Otis was arrested for vandalizing Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Otis confessed to the crime on TMZ.
Otis told several media outlets that he originally intended to remove the star.
He said he wanted to auction it off to raise funds for the 11 women accusing the presidential candidate of groping them.
Trump has denied the groping allegations.
Trump’s star was awarded to him back in 2007.
