Career
Jamal Corrie
He released his first CD, 'Pedals & Keys' in September of 2006, which contained His first compositions.
Afterward, in November of 2007, Corrie completed his second CD, 'Take My Hand.' He said the inspiration for the title track struck from a dream his grandmother had.
Personal Life
Jamal began composing music very early as a child.
He had written two instrumental albums by 14.
He has since taught himself eight instruments like guitar and piano,
"I got interested when I was introduced to xylophone when I was 6 years old.
I started playing piano at age 12, I started singing at age 18 and I started playing guitar two years ago."
says Jamal.[12]
However life hasn't been simple for this music wonder.
After his parents separated, he lived with his father, who moved them to California so Jamal could pursue music. His mother later got sick, so Jamal raised cash by performing on the street to move her and his two autistic brothers to California. He is now helping support his family by busking as a full-time performer. In spite of the fact that Jamal is an experienced musician, The Voice was his first time performing on a real stage. [1]
