Murder of Adam Hilarie
On August 19, 2016 Hailey Bustos and three co-conspirators robbed and murdered Adam Hilarie, a single father with a 5-year-old daughter. He was found dead at about 6:45 p.m at his apartment in Auburndale. Hailey had arranged the robbery in exchange for $50.
Hailey and her three accomplices, Joshua Ellington, Andre Warner and Gary Gray were all charged with first degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery with a firearm/deadly weapon.
The day before the robbery Hailey went on a bowling date with Adam on PlentyOfFish an online dating site. After the date, they went back to his place, and she texted him later: I had a good time and would like to see you again.
Police are unsure how the robbery escalated into a murder and said that Adam Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a 5-year-old daughter," according to arrest reports.
