Eric Geller is an American Journalist based in Washington, D.C. Eric Geller is a cybersecurity reporter at POLITICO, covering policymaking at the White House, the Justice Department, the State Department, and the Commerce Department. [1]

Education

Eric Geller graduated from Kenyon College in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in political science.

Career

Geller began his journalism career in October 2014 at the Daily Dot, where he covered technology policy and served as an editor during the morning shift. He covered the Obama administration’s IT security policies in the wake of the Office of Personnel Management hack, the landmark 2015 U.S.–China agreement on commercial hacking and the high-profile encryption battle between Apple and the FBI after the San Bernardino, Calif. terrorist attack.

At the height of the controversy, he interviewed then-FBI Director James Comey about his perspective on encryption encryption. His first day at POLITICO was June 14, 2016, when news broke of a suspected Russian government hack of the Democratic National Committee.
