Elahe Izadi (Farsi: الهه عزادی) is an Iranian-American stand-up comedienne and reporter for The Washington Post where she covers pop culture. [1]
Education
Elahe Izadi graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2006 with dual BAs in Journalism and African-American History from the University of Maryland College Park where she also wrote for its student newspaper The Diamondback. [1]
Career
Journalism
Elahe Izadi began her journalism career in 2007 as a staff writer for The Gazette (Maryland), where she covered local news in Prince George's County, Maryland. In 2010 Izadi joined the staff of TBD.com where she continued to write about local affairs in the DC Metro Area. After being laid off in early 2011 as part of a restructuring, Izadi was promptly hired by Washington, DC NPR affiliate WAMU where she wrote about race and class. Izadi transitioned to national reporting in 2012 when she joined the staff of National Journal, where she covered US Congress and lobbying. In 2014 Izadi joined the staff of The Washington Post as a general assignment reporter, and has been covering pop culture for The Post since 2016. [1]
