Career
Doug Kass also served as Portfolio manager and Principal at Demours Capital Management from 2003 to 2004. He was a also a General partner at Seabreeze Partners L.P From 2001 to 2004.
Prior to that, he worked as a General partner at Kass Partners from 1997 to 2003. During 1995-1996, he served as a Senior Portfolio manager at Omega Advisors.
Besides, Doug worked as an Executive Senior Vice president and Director of Institutional Equities at JW Charles/ CSG from 1993 to 1995 and First Albany, from 1991 to 1993.
Douglas was also a General partner at DAK Securities from 1985 to 1990. During 1984, he was a General partner at Jakobson Kass Partners. From 1978 to 1983, Doug Kass was a General partner at Glickenhaus & Co. Moreover, he was a Vice president, Analyst and Economist at Putnam Management from 1974 to 1978.
In general, Doug started investment career as a Housing Analyst at Kidder, Peabody in 1972.
Doug is a principal contributor to Thestreet.com's Street Insight and has lectured on short selling at Yale School of Management and at the New School of Social Research. He has been interviewed in and has written numerous articles for Barrons, including several cover stories and editorials.
Education
Doug got an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1972 and a Bachelor's degree from Alfred University.
