Danielle Strachman
Danielle Lynne Strachman is a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. She is the founder and general partner of the 1517 Fund and founder of an project-based learning charter school called the Innovations Academy.
Danielle Strachman is also a Thiel Fellowship alumna. Since graduating from the program, she has been involved with alternative education. She intends to disrupt the education sector while helping young entrepreneurs. [1]
Career
Innovations Academy
In 2007, Strachman founded the Innovations Academy in San Diego, a K-8 charter school serving 350 students. As the Director of Student Growth for Innovation’s Academy’s first two years, she led the team's focus on student- led projects based learning and other alternative programs.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors.
Thiel Fellowship
In November 2010, Danielle became a founding team member of the Thiel Fellowship. Peter Thiel's idea behind the program was to enable young people to do innovative things without having to worry about college debt or time constraints.
About one month after leading the design and operations there, she became the program director.
While building out the Thiel Fellowship, she spearheaded the Thiel Foundation Summit Community, which is made up of 2,000 young entrepreneurs.
