Brandon grew up in Connecticut and has two brothers.

He is of part French Canadian descent. Brandon started riding when he was 8-years-old and soon after his father would buy a bike and join him. He said that he was fortunate enough to live in an area that would always have a park around to ride in; even when one closed, another one would open. ^[undefined]

Before he turned pro, Brandon worked at a bike shop and later Checkers in his hometown. During that time, Brandon would ride during the day and then work at night. Brandon first sponsored by the German BMX company WeThePeople, although he is no longer sponsored by them anymore.
