Bob Lake

Bob Lake was the head coach for men's tennis at Appalachian State University since 2000.

[1]He was an active participant in Spencer Brown's controversial and racist incident on January 28, 2018, during a weekend tennis match between Lake's team and the North Carolina A&T Aggies tennis team. [0]He has resigned from his role as head tennis coach since that incident. [-1]

Personal Life

A native of New York, Lake has resided in the High Country for over 30 years. Before coming to Boone, NC, Lake spent time in Charleston, SC as the Director of Tennis at Seabrook Island resort. Lake also served as the director of tennis at Boone’s Yonahlossee Raquet Club. Lake played both tennis and basketball at Orange County Community College before playing at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY.
