He was planning to major in psychology and later study medicine.
Blaze was the son of Gideon Bernstein and Jeanne Bernstein.
Disappearance
On Tuesday, January 2, 2018 Bernstein was reported by missing by his family.
He was last seen at Borrego Park near his home Foothill Ranch.
His parents stated that a friend of Bernstein picked him up after 11:00 p.m. local time and they drove to the park.
Bernstein's friend stayed in the park while he went into the Whiting Ranch Wilderness Area.
The friend stated that he didn't know why Bernstein wanted to go there.
Bernstein's parents didn't even know he had gone out until the next day when they couldn't find him.
Death
On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, his body was found in Borrego park in the Foothill Ranch area of the city of Lake Forest. Authorities stated his death is being investigated as a homicide.
They also declined to release additional information about Bernstein’s cause of death, stating their investigation was ongoing.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
Investigation
On Friday, January 12, 2018, his friend Samuel Woodward was taken into custody in connection with his death.
