He was formerly editorial director of POLITICO.com, overseeing the publication’s digital operations.

Before joining POLITICO in June 2013, Blake was managing editor of Foreign Policy, which was nominated for 10 National Magazine Awards during his tenure.

In 2011, he was a finalist for the Livingston Awards for Young Journalists for his reporting on the Arab uprisings, and his Twitter feed was named one of TIME Magazine's 140 Best Twitter Feeds of 2011.
