Bianca Castro

Bianca Castro is an American journalist who grew up in Plano with the passion for journalism. She currently work for KXAS-TV/NBC 5 a news anchor and general assignment reporter. She has over 15 years experience as a journalist after working fr some well known stations, like KWTX-TV, KRIS communication, KSSV News and KXXV, in the nation. She graduated from Baylor University.

Education and Early Life

Bianca Castro grew up at Plano together with her four siblings.

She has always needed to be "in the know" since she is the oldest of five.

She graduated from Plano Senior Secondary School, after which she proceeded to Baylor University to earn a bachelor's degree in communication. Bianca Castro , while in college, interned at a Dallas television station.

Career

Bianca Castro started her journalism career in Waco. Even as new journalist, she was able to cover some interesting stories which include reporting President George W. Bush's to Crawford and the issues facing troops at Fort Hood in Killeen. She later worked for KWTX-TV as a reporter and weekend anchor for three years before joining KRIS Communication in April, 2006.

She was at KRIS Communications for four years and eight months serving as a primary anchor for KRIS evening newscast and she was able to cover several hurricanes that hit the coast during this period.

She joined WFTV in October 2010 as an reporter and she anchor the Eyewitness News This Morning.

She currently works at KXAS-TV, NBC 5 as an anchor after joining the service of the station in March 2014. She anchors NBC 5 First at Four and general assignments reporter for News at 10. [1][2][17]

Personal Life

Bianca Castro is dedicated to the development of her community and she this makes her to be actively involved in some volunteer work.

She is part of the board of directors for local chapters of March of Dimes, Communities In Schools and Family Outreach of Corpus Christi.

She also volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Bianca Castro live happily with her husband, three children and a Maltese.

Bianca Castro is active on social media and she leverage on the power of social media to share news stories and reach out to a large number of audience at the same time. She often make use of her Facebook and Twitter for news sharing and Instagram for sharing pictures of activities, most especially, with family members. Presently, She has about 8.7 thousand followers on Twitter, about 11.7 thousand followers on Facebook and about 4.5 thousand followers on Instagram.[14][15][16]
