Austin Wilson was a teenager from North Carolina who was the youngest to become a part of the show, This Old House. While traveling with the crew of the International Builders' Show, he died during his sleep. [1]
Biography
Austin Wilson was born and raised in the state of North Carolina. He lived in the city of Castle Hayne for most of his life.
General Construction
Since the age of 12 years old, he was a part of Kids Making It, a local after-school program, where he was taught how to woodwork.
He studied
construction management at Cape Fear Community College.
This Old House
Soon after, while still enrolled at the community college, he applied to be one of three apprentices on the show, This Old House. On April, 2017 Austin submitted his application and was accepted from a pool of hundreds as part of the cast for the 39th season on PBS in 2017.
Death

On January 9th, 2018, after Wilson was flown by the TV Show to be a part of the National Association of Home Builders conference in Orlando, Florida. He was supposed to be on stage with his two other peers from the show for the opening ceremony. Yet, before they were able to be transported to the conference, Wilson was found unresponsive inside of his Hotel Room. According to Jimmy Pierce, founder and executive director of Kids Making It, Wilson apparently died in his sleep.
Wilson died unexpectedly due to a pre-existing medical condition.
