Aurora Sheffel was a student at North Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon. She was a varsity cheerleader in spite of being a Freshman.

Sheffel was an honor student at North Eugene High School.
Personal Life
Sheffel had 2 sets of parent but resided with her mother and stepfather in Eugene Or.
She was extremely close to all 5 of her siblings- 13 year old brother, 6 year old sister, 5 year old sister, 4 year old brother and a 2 year old brother.
Death
On March 25, 2017, Aurora was killed when a log pinned her underwater while she was playing with her friends at South Beach State Park during spring break. [1]
She was taking pictures and posing with her friends atop the piece of timber sticking out the sand, as the tide receded around them.
The log had twisted in the shifting sand and surf, trapping Aurora underneath while her friends managed to escape.
Bystanders had rushed to her aid and were eventually able to free her from under the heavy, waterlogged piece of wood on the shore. She died at a local hospital soon after. [1]
