Ashley Reese is an American journalist and columnist.

She is currently a staff writer for *Jezebel *.[4]She specializes in topics related to race, gender, and popular culture.[3]

Early Life & Education

Ashley Reese grew up in Santa Monica, California.

She attended Crossroads School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at Howard University.[2]

While studying at Howard, Reese was an active member of the Howard Students for Progressive Action.[2] During her junior year, she studied abroad at Goldsmiths, University of London.[2]

Career

After graduating, Ashley Reese began writing for DEFY Media.

She has been a contributor to Gurl.com since May 2012.

She later wrote her own column on TheGloss.com called "Accidental Virgin."[3]

She has also written for magazines among the likes of *Teen Vogue *[8] Vulture, [9] and *Rookie *.[7]

She is currently a staff writer for Jezebel.[4]
