Areej Zufari is a professor at Rollins College in Florida. [0]She teaches Islamic studies. Her book Beyond the Headlines: A Deeper Look at Middle Eastern Culture was published in 2012. She was the spokesperson for the Islamic Society of Central Florida.
According to Jihad Watch and the Central Florida Post, Zufari gave her student Marshall Polston a failing grade and filed a police report with false statements in it against he contradicted her claims that the cruxifiction of Christ was faked and a Muslim student saying castration was an appropriate punishment for people being Gay. On March 13, 2017, Zufari posted on Facebook to the ACLU of Florida asking for help and said she had received a threatening and hateful email.
Replies posted in response vary from opinions on the facts of the events that took place to hateful attacks on Zufari.
A hearing cleared Polston of the accusations against him and reinstated him.
He had not threatened Zufari but threatened to go public about her actions.
He also proved that he was not at the school when Zufari accused him of showing up to stalk her.
Areej's sister Noor Zufari is an event planner in Tampa, Florida.
