Antonio García Martínez

Antonio Garcia Martinez (born March 25, 1976) is a tech Entrepreneur, former Facebook executive, Twitter advisor, and best selling author. In 2016, Martinez published the book Chaos Monkeys about his career experiences launching a tech startup, selling it to Twitter, and working at Facebook from its pre-IPO stage. Antonio García Martínez is critical of certain aspects pertaining to the tech industry. [1]


Antonio García Martínez attended UC Berkeley where he studied physics. Antonio started his career at Goldman Sachs as a quantitative strategist. After leaving the investment firm in the wake of the financial meltdown, Martinez found work at ad tech company Adchemy. His next move was to start his own firm in the industry, AdGrok. He sold it to Twitter for several million and then joined Facebook as product director of Facebook’s ad exchange in 2011. He was fired from Facebook in 2013.

His book details experiences with Silicon Valley culture and San Francisco, California living. He details long hours and intense workplaces with hyper competitive young techies aspiring to get ahead. He also depicts egomaniacal tech executives and compromised ethics.
