On Saturday February 10, 2018, Officers Eric Joering and Morelli were shot dead in Westerville, Ohio while responding to a 911 hang up call.

The shooting took place at around 11:30 a.m. on Crosswind Drive.

Officers were responding to a 911 call at the address, and were fired upon when they arrived at the scene.
