Raimondi served the the Vietnam War during the 1970's. He has stated that he killed people in Vietnam. He was born and raised in New York City. Raimondi has admitted to being involved in 300 killings, both in Vietnam and in the streets. He has stated that many people were killed due to unruly behavior at after hour clubs. Raimondi has also stated that getting in a fight or putting your hands on a made member of the mafia could lead to a death sentence. Longtime Colombo gangster Anthony Raimondi stated that in 1978 he went to Italy with a team of hit men who murdered John Paul I. It is still widely believed that the Pope died of a heart attack in his sleep. Raimondi makes a contradictory statement and alleges that he was poisoned with cyanide just 33 days into his reign. This is according to Raimondi’s book, “When the Bullet Hits the Bone,” which was releaed by Page Publishing.[2] It was orchestrated due to that the fact they believed that the Pope was involved with stock fraud. He is of Italian heritage. Both of Raimondi's grandfathers were from Sicily and were a part of the Black Hand, which was mentioned in the 1974 movie The Godfather, Part II.
