Lower Ranking House Of Windsor

The House Order of Hohenzollern was a dynastic order of knighthood of the House of Hohenzollern awarded to military commissioned officers and civilians of comparable status.

Associated with the various versions of the order were crosses and medals which could be awarded to lower-ranking soldiers and civilians.

Higher ranking British royals belonged to the House Of Hohenzollern until it was removed in the 1920's.

The German version was removed after Germany's loss in World War I. The House of Windsor was a lower ranking royal family at the time of the removal of the House of Hohenzollern. Many members of the deposed royal family died serving in Nazi Germany's military in World War II. Historic Royal Palaces is an independent charity that manages some of the United Kingdom's unoccupied royal palaces.
