Background
Roxo attended Marietta High School in Georgia. She received her BFA from New York University in Film, Drama / Theatre, and Photography.
FILM
Her style of film work explores themes of sexuality, spirituality and the divine feminine.
She worked and participated in numerous award winning film projects before garnering the experience necessary to complete her first Feature length film, Mary Marie, which received praise from Variety. **
She's a co-creator of Purple Milk, a collaborative partnership with Natalia Leite- the two produced, wrote, directed and starred in the Web series, Be Here Nowish. Their multiple projects with VICE has brought more than 10 million views online.
She has given talks about her experiences and creative process as a Filmmaker at Lincoln Center, AOL live, The Huffington Post live and more.
She recently worked in the HBO TV series, The Knick.
Spiritual Work
For The Huffington Post, Roxo has written about her spiritual journey and writes a monthly column for The Numinous called, "Holy F*ck", where she explores the themes of sexuality and spirituality.
She leads group rituals off and on in the last ten years with a focus on women's healing and lectures on plant medicines.
She learned from her first spiritual teacher, Bobby Drinnon, at age 12, and studied different modern spiritual teachers from Doreen Virtue to Starhawk.
