Adrienne Bankert is a well known American Journalist as well as a television news host. She also spends a lot of her time as a mentor, speaker, and presenter. She gained popularity as a host on Good Morning America in 2016 before moving on to be a correspondent for ABC News. She currently lives in New York City. [22]
Early Life and Education
Adrienne Bankert was born in Beverly Hills, California, but raised in Sheridan, California. [22] She is the oldest of 7 and has 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She attended Wheatland High School before going on to pursue a degree in Communication and Media studies at the University of Southern California. [3]
Career
Adrienne Bankert began her on screen career in 2004 as a traffic reporter for KCRA-TV on a segment called "Traffic Pulse." She then joined Hearst Television KCRA-TV in July 2006 as a news anchor, reporter and host. [23] At KCRA-TV [4] she was able to cover major stories like the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011, California wildfires, Jerry Brown's 2010 governor's race and the discovery of missing child Jaycee Dugard. [2] She also got opportunities to interview celebrities like NFL Hall of Famer Tim Brown, NBA's Matt Barnes and comedians Marlon Wayans and D.L. Hughley. [7]
Currently, she is a national news correspondent and reports regularly for Good Morning America, World News Tonight & coanchor World News Now and America This Morning on ABC News.
In June 2020, Bankert's first book, "Your Hidden Superpower: The Kindness That Makes You Unbeatable at Work and Connects You with Anyone" was released.
In her book, Bankert shares examples of simple acts of kindness, how to make them a habit and how to show kindness at work, especially during the divisive times.[32]
Personal Life
When she is not in front of the camera, Bankert spends her free time doing community service by mentoring youth and women. She is the founder and president of Loving Individuals Giving Help Together (LIGHT) and was a board member of Sacramento Helping Hands which helped to facilitate marketing opportunities, fundraising, and community partnership from 2009 to 2012. [21]
In an interview with Sacramento Magazine she stated "[she does] a lot of community service [and does] a lot of work with [her] church and with young people...because [she has] been given so many chances by people who saw potential in [her], and it was all because [she] was in the right place at the right time." [1] Bankert also serves on the board of the Juvenile Justice Chaplaincy, and consults with organizations that assist in keeping young people off the streets.
On September 2, 2020, Global Angel, a value-driven fashion brand, announced a partnership with Bankert.
Together they will spread messages of kindness through a collection of T-shirts.
The three styles each carry with it words of encouragement from Bankert's new book.
Quotes include "The unbeatable kind," "Start with the KIND of person you want to be," and "It's time to redefine what it means to be kind."
The collection will benefit Sacramento Helping Hands with 25% of each sale going towards their cause.[33]
