In 2005, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota. ^{[7] [8]}

Aaron's journalism career began in 2001 as a reporter for UM-Twin Cities' daily newspaper, The Minnesota Daily . After graduating, he wrote for Minnesota's Star Tribune and The Hill newspaper. ^[7]

Since May 2010, Aaron Blake has been working for the Washington Post. He is currently a Senior Reporter for their political blog, "The Fix." ^[12] He has also written several articles for RealClearPolitics. ^[18]
