Robert Leshner is a San Francisco known entrepreneur and innovator. He is also known for founding blockchain company Compound. Leshner is a Chartered Financial Analyst who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.[1][2] He is married to Tubular Labs founder and chief strategy officer Allison Jenny Stern.[5]
Early Life & Education
Robert leshner is from Pipersville, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Ivy Silver, founder of Commonwealth Consulting Group, and Steven Leshner, owner and president of the Commonwealth Investment Management Group in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.[5]
Robert Leshner attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with an Economics Degree. He is also is a certified Chartered Financial Analyst.[17] He is married to Tubular Labs (analytics company) founder and chief strategy officer Allison Stern.[5]
Career
On October 1, 2011, Leshner co-founded Safe Shepard with Geoff Hayes.[4] a service that focuses on the removal of personal information from companies that sell it by scanning both the internet and private databases. Throughout its two funding rounds, the company raised $629,000 with their last seed round being held in 2013.[3]
In August 2017, Leshner and Hayes launched Compound, an open-source interest rate protocol that is built on the Ethereum blockchain. Since its two funding rounds, the firm has raised over $33.2 million, primarily from venture capital company Andreessen Horowitz.[6] The company's token, COMP, hit an all time of $231 per token around late June, making it one of the pillars of the growing DeFi (Decentralized Finance) network.[18][19]
