Zahara Jolie-Pitt
Zahara Jolie-Pitt
Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt (born January 8, 2005) is a daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Personal Life
Zahara was born as Yemsrach on January 8, 2005 in Awasa, Ethiopia. When she was six month old, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted her from an orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on July 6, 2005.[1][5][6]
Her biological mother's name is Mentewab Dawit Lebiso.[4] She was forced to give her daughter up after she was raped and then fell sick after her baby was born.
Jolie adopted the daughter from Ethiopia believing she was an AIDS orphan. It is thought that she had no idea that Mentewab was alive until 2007, when she gave her first interview.[11]
Career
In 2006, Zahara appeared in the episode "20 Cutest Celebrity Babies" of the TV series VH1: All Access. She had a short uncredited role in her mother's 2014 dark fantasy film Maleficent. In 2016, she voiced the character of Meng Meng in the animated movie Kung Fu Panda 3.[6]
Zahara debuted her Zahara Collection jewelry line in collaboration with jeweler Robert Procop at the Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil on September 30, 2019.[3]
