Yasmin Seweid is a student majoring in business at Baruch College. ^[1] Seweid was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to Egyptian parents. ^[1] Yasmin is a devout Muslim and wears a Hijab.

In December 2016, Yasmin claimed that the was attacked on the NYC subway by hooligans who pulled at her hijab. However, police have arrested her for filing a false report, and say that she made the story up. Yasmin admitted that she made the story up, saying she was driven to do so by family problems. ^[undefined] Her report was one of many hoax hate crimes reported in the wake of Donald Trump's election victory.
