Yama Warashi is the musical project of Yoshino Shigihara. She is a Japanese artist from London with a degree in Graphic Design and Moving Image from Kyoto Seika University in Japan. The name refers to a small child-like spirit that lives in the mountains.^{[25] [30]}

Yama Warashi released the 6 song EP "Moon Zero" on 18th March 2016,^[1] followed by the album, "Moon Egg" and "Boiled Moon" later in 2018^[2] recorded with Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, M. Ward, Perfume Genius) at The Playpen in Bristol.
