Yair was born and raised in Jerusalem. [undefined] He is the son of Sara and Ben Netanyahu. He has one younger brother, Avener, and one older sister, Noa Netanyahu-Roth. Growing up, he wanted to be an actor and attended High School for the Arts majoring in theater. [undefined] Yair served in the Israel Defense Forces in the spokesman's office. After his service, he became a student at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he studied international relations and was part of his school's Lukid Lavi movement. Meme Controversy
The meme Yair posted
On September 9th, Yair reposted a meme on his Facebook profile a meme that depicts George Soros running the world. In the meme, Soros is dangling the earth by a fishing pole in front of a reptilian creature who is dangling an alchemical symbol in front a figure reminiscent of the anti-semetic "happy merchant" meme. The other figures in the chain are former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, anti-Netanyahu protest leader Eldad Yaniv and Meni Naftali.
Reaction
Ex-KKK leader David Duke tweeted in support of Yair while Andrew Anglin of the The Daily Stormer called Yair "a total bro." [undefined] After Haaretz published a report about his meme, Yair Netanyahu dismissed the claim that he is anti-Semitic and accused the newspaper of being exactly that. [1]
