Xavier Labelle

Xavier Labelle was a Canadian hockey player for the Humboldt Broncos.

Personal Life

Labelle played 83 games for the Contacts in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League over two seasons before moving on to the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

He was born in Saskatoon, was in his second year playing for the Humboldt Broncos. He was invited to the Saskatoon Blades training camp in 2014 and 2016 and played with the Contacts in the Telus Cup in 2016.

On Friday April 6, 2018, Lebelle experienced a bus crash in which 15 people were killed.

The crash took place on Highway 35 near Gronlid.

The bus had Labelle's junior hockey team on board, and it crashed with a truck in Saskatchewan. The hockey team was heading for a playoff game against the Nipawin Hawks.

Labelle was initially identified as one of those who died in the crash.

However, it was announced two days later that Labelle was injured but still alive; his teammate, Parker Tobin, died.
