William Jeffrey West also known as Jeff West is a resident of Calera, Alabama. ^{[2] [3]}

He is a 21-year U.S. Army veteran and an unsworn officer for the Birmingham—Southern College campus police. ^[2]West was married to Kitty Kat West (Kathleen Martin). ^{[2] [3]}

William and his wife filed for bankruptcy in 2007 while living in Cartersville, Georgia, but the case appeared to be handled routinely and closed within months. They moved into the home in Calera in 2015. It was valued at $169,000 last year. ^{[3] [2]}

On Thursday February 22, 2018, Jeff was arrested in connection to the death of his wife Kathleen Martin.
