History
Washington D.C. Event
Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer stated at the event:
“The truth is, current social media platforms are designed to use their users,”“Just look at the business model.
Our content.
Our data.
Our attention.
These are all incredibly valuable things.
But right now, it’s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward.
By design, they run by auctioning our information to advertisers, pocketing the profit, and flooding our feeds with hidden agendas dictated by the highest bidder.
Voice changes that.”
Launch
The beta version of Voice was released on February 14, 2020.
During beta, Voice was hosted on a custom EOS.IO

But, we simply can't wait any longer.
We need to take social back from big tech NOW.
So, we did what startups do."
