Vanessa (VNSSA) popularly known by her pseudonym VNSSA is an uprising DJ known for her unique beats.

She performs regularly at well-known venues all over the United States.

Apart from playing her own shows, she has performed with various acts such as Chris Lake, Claptone, Destructo, Claude VonStroke.

Vanessa was born as Vanessa Barnes, she was raised in Newport Beach, California.

Growing up in Newport Beach, she spent most of her time surfing, spending time at the beach daily, she listened to heavy metal music, surf punk, and indie rock.

As a child she wanted Santa to give her a turntable for Christmas, though she never got it she found herself drumming in local rock and indie rock bands.

From there she learnt how to be DJ, and started performing at various local clubs and house parties.

After being a DJ for 5 years and producing music for about 2 years, she released her debut single in early 2018 on House of Grand Hustle Records.

Since then she has released various EP and singles on labels such as Dirtybird Records, Dim Man, Sweat It Out, Psycho Disco, Box of Cats, Tons & Tons, Strangelove Recordings, and many others including a Beatport #1 single “Word”, with Walker & Royce, on Black Book Records/ HotBoi.

Her live videos cover all genres of house and techno, she performs regularly at well-known venues all over the country and has also performed with numerous acts such as Chris Lake, Claptone, Destructo, Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Nora En Pure, Ciszak, Worthy, Walker & Royce, Cassian, Steve Darko, Ardalan, Fisher, AC Slater, Kyle Watson, Wongo, Bot, and many others

It was when she discovered music like "Don’t Go" by Justin Martin and "Femme Fatale" by Justin Jay that she entered into the world of Dirtybird.

She grew closer to the label’s quirky take on house music, and when she released her debut EP, she quickly caught their attention.

She was then booked for Dirtybird events like their infamous Dirtybird Campout festival and also collaborated with Walker & Royce on “Word.”

The track hit top spot on Beatport and made its way throughout house music DJ sets.
