Vero is an American Social media Mobile app which aims to expand the boundaries of its main competitor, Instagram, by eliminating algorithms and network effects of conversion. ^{[0] [4]}The app implements features from each social media leviathan: YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, where people can share pictures, text, videos, and all kinds of content. ^[4]The app touts itself as the "authentic" and "relationship first" social-media platform that allows it users to who want to have control of what they are sharing content with an audience that is intuitive for each post made. ^{[13] [4]}

In late February 2018, the app made its way to the top of downloads for both Android OS and iOS due to thousands of users being dissatisfied with Instagram's inconsistencies with their timeline features and other algorithmic troubles. ^[10]

The app, Vero, which means "true" in Italian, was created in 2015 by Ayman Hariri, Motaz Nabulsi, and Scott Birbaum in New York. ^[14]Hariri is notorious for having been involved in a scandal. In his previous company, he ran into serious financial trouble and stopped paying its employees. ^[6]

After winning the chance to walk to have a walk-on part on the set of the film, *Justice League *, Hariri and Zack Snyder became friends. Snyder is one of the users of the platform and considered an ambassador as well. ^[16]

Vero’s business model isn’t based on serving advertisements, which means their focus is on their users whom they see as their customers.

The focus of the app is in delivering the best social experience rather than trying to find new ways to monetize their users’ behavior or tricking them back into the app with notifications.

The app has waived their annual subscription fee to the first million users and downloaders of the app for life.

Users thereafter will be asked to for a small fee to join a platform that they can feel happy about.

Merchants will also pay a fee when they sell via our "Buy Now" feature that allows creators and brands to sell products directly from posts.

The Feed on the app is composed of the individual's post along with posts of people the user is connected with or follow.

The app practices no curation, manipulation, and insert of advertisement, or ways to hold back posts.

People see what has been posted by the individual, and the user gets to see other's posts as well without any use "boost" for a post in order to reach a wider audience.

The Vero account is not tied to the user's phone number although the number is essential in signing up and registering.

The number is not shared by Vero to any third party.
