On March, 2018, while McKinley and his friend rode inside of a trailer that was being pulled by Dune buggy, the brakes were suddenly slammed which caused the trailer to flip over.

[3]McKinley's head landed hard on the concrete when the trailer flipped over.

He was rushed into emergency surgery at USA Medical Center where doctors told his parents that he had seven skull fractures.

[3] [4]He was dead for a total of 15 minutes.

When Trenton came back to life and regained consciousness, the doctors told his mother that he would never fully recover and that he would remain a vegetable all his life.

Trenton's parents made the decision to donate his organs to children in need of transplants.

Just a day before Trenton was scheduled to be taken off of life support, Trenton began to show signs of brain activity.

He slowly began to regain consciousness.

Trenton began to breathe on his own and, when he woke up, he was speaking in full sentences.

[3] [8]

Trenton still has a long road to recovery and suffers nerve pain and daily seizures.

He has had three brain surgeries and will have another procedure to reconnect the missing piece of his skull.

[8]

Trenton currently only has half of his skull.

The missing piece is frozen at the hospital.

He will have surgery soon to reconnect it.
