Travis Maldonado (22 March 1994 – 6 October 2017) was a businessman in America. He is popularly known as the husband of Joe "Exotic" Schreibvogel, the subject of the Netflix documentary Tiger King.
Early life
Travis Maldonado was born in California, USA. His exact date of birth is March 22nd, 1994. During his childhood, he started using drugs like methamphetamine which caused his father Danny and mother Cheryl Maldonado a lot of grief. Travis has two sisters named Danielle and Ashley Maldonado. According to Ashley’s Instagram posts, Danny is battling cancer and currently undergoing radiation therapy.
Education
Travis Maldonado did his schooling from a local school. He went on to college but later dropped out due to some uncertain challenges. He left home at an early age.
Career
Travis Maldonado started to help Joe in running his zoo.
They both earned a lot from smuggling tiger cubs and raising them illegally.
He used to live a very lavish life, constantly throwing parties.
The zoo basically has tigers, lions, bears, crocodiles, and other animals.
Relationship
He was the husband of the notorious zoo owner, Joe "Exotic" Schreibvogel and people around the community knew him as “Joe Exotic’s husband”. In Tampa, Travis met Joe through a mutual friend and their gay romance started after that. They both were engaged in running their zoo in Oklahoma named “G.W. Zoo”.

Accidental discharge
Travis Maldonado died on October 6, 2017, in an accidental shooting.
According to Joe’s version of the events, Travis was showing off a Ruger P-Series pistol to the staff and joking around in the zoo’s gift shop. It was reported that he had read on the internet that the gun wouldn’t fire without the magazine. To prove it, he took out the magazine, well aware that there was a bullet in the barrel.
He thought that the gun would not fire when he pulled the trigger.
However, he was tragically wrong.
The gun fired, shooting him in the head and killing him before the first responders arrived.
Investigators suspected that drugs might have been a factor in Maldonado’s death.
